If your case is dismissed, does that mean im not convicted?

I was arrested for possession of marijuana. I’m applying for financial aid . I’m going to take drug rehabilitation programs to get the case dismissed. So when i apply for financial aid next year, could i put “no” for the part that says “have you ever been convicted of drug possession.

Yes you can put ‘no.’ Your case was dismissed and you were therefore not convicted.
Just remember that if you get caught again, you can kiss goodbye to your college education. It’s BS, but that’s how it is in America.
No.
You still have a criminal record.
If it is dismissed then there are no charges against you.

Yes, If you went to court and the Judge said case dismissed then the case is thrown out and destroyed. If u were not convicted and it was completely dismissed then you can put “no” on your financial aid paperwork.
if the court drops the charges the charges it’s not technically a conviction however my husband was just saying that if your taking classes and what not to get it dropped then it’ll show up on your record but its not a conviction..he also wants me to tell you that just because the DA throws you a deal doesn’t mean the judge will take it
