    Communism would have taken over. the yanks would not have done it otherwise. Note, though, that Tito accepted Marshall Aid anyway, but it was mainly about defeating the Left. Remember, they were the ones who had fought Hitler during the Nazi occupation, and they were in a very strong position in france, germany. Also the most Left wing government elected in UK came in in ‘45. The British Army actually fought the Greek Communists in a war just after 1945.
