How do I find the best alcohol rehabilitation for my wife?
mike j asked:
My wife’s been an alcoholic for over a year now, and I want her to undergo an alcohol rehabilitation before it’s too late. I know that if she doesn’t her life will put to risk. I don’t want our kids to be robbed of a mother they so dearly love. For some months now, I’ve been working on convincing her, and I have this confidence that she’ll eventually agree. Now, I am actively searching for the best possible alcohol rehab program that can help my wife. Any idea is welcome.

Call your local A.A. chapter. They can give you insight.
Mike, you are a good person for hanging in there. A.A. is your best first step. They can recommend local rehab centers that works. Good luck!!
When I went to rehab two years ago, they said statistically, people who are forced to go to rehab vs. those who go voluntarily recover equally as well. You just need to know that you are not alone and that she really CAN get better. I have been clean for two years, after 20 years of abusing alcohol and drugs. It is so fantastic and my son is doing beautifully.
I went to a facility called Valley Hope. This one was in Booneville, Mo., but there are several around the country. People who have been to Betty Ford and all the really well known centers tell me this is one of the very best, I know it really worked for me and so many people like me.
This is such a common problem, yet such an isolating one. You owe it to your children, to yourself, and to her to put her in a car and drive her to the nearest rehab facility. Get on line, or get out the yellow pages now, because the people who don’t get clean die.
